'Hairspray' Movie Poster
This project tasked me with combining my chosen movie, 'Hairspray (2007)', with the style of randomly assigned artist Emory Douglas. Through research, I gained a deeper appreciation for Douglas's influential graphic design, known for its bold imagery and social messages. I emulated his style by incorporating radiant rays and layered textures, with a focus on the iconic hairspray can from the movie. The poster’s cream background reflects Douglas's print materials, while the purple accents echo his signature color choices, blending his visual language with the vibrant energy of 'Hairspray.'
